SHORT DESCRIPTION

Hydrogeological study in the Nydri basin saline aquifer to explore the possibilities of groundwater quality upgrading. The study included mapping, testing, water wells inventory and piezometry, hydrogeological evaluation, water balance computation and groundwater simulation of the aquifer.
Calibration of the model and run it in scenarios of different pumping conditions aiming to push the seawater interface towards the coast.
Final conclusions were drawn and the necessary measures were proposed.
